The first step to controlling the home environment is to make sure to get rid of things like snack foods and unhealthy junk that sits around in your pantry, cupboards and the stash and hide places. If you are trying to lose weight and get back into shape having unhealthy foods in your house can be a recipe for a major set back. If you get rid of all those things, and replace them with healthy foods you’ll have a better chance at successfully meeting your goals.

If you want to keep a few things around, for a quick and easy meal every once in a while that’s fine but make sure that you keep these quick and easy meals to things that would be found on your meal plan so even though you’re doing quick you are still eating healthy.

Control Your Food Shopping

The next step is to control how you shop for food. Once you’ve cleaned out your house you certainly don’t want to bring everything back in. Start by making a menu and list; include any snacks you might end up waiting as well.

Make sure you shop when you aren’t hungry and don’t purchase things that aren’t on your list. This way you know you are only bringing things into your home that is part of your meal plan.

Avoid Eating Out

Be sure to eat at home instead of restaurants, eating out is fine once in a while but potion sizes are usually significantly larger than you should be eating. If you do have to eat out, for example business lunches or dinners, remember to choose healthy foods and don’t be afraid to take it home with you.

Work Environment

Here is the final weak spot, the work environment. All of us have done it worked on a project or been in a rush and hit the vending machine for a quick snack. This can definitely cause issues with your weight loss and fitness program. Consider keeping healthy alternatives with you at work and instead of eating out, bring your lunch.
