In a survey of 216 companies around the world, the Graduate Management Admissions Council found that companies will prefer holders of a Master’s of Business Administration Degree (MBA) in 2012.
According to the council – administrator of the Graduate Management Admissions Test – almost 75 percent of these companies have hired or intended to hire holders of such degrees this year. In comparison, the 2011 survey found only 58 percent of them willing to hire MBA graduates.
With gradual gains in the economy come opportune job vacancies. Many of these vacancies are managerial positions, requiring business savvy on the part of applicants. In contention for these jobs, applicants sooner or later discover that their bachelor’s degree is simply not enough. To compensate, they put what would have been two years of professional experience on the line to study full-time in a graduate program in a physical school.
This is where an online business degree comes into the picture.
An online MBA program seems the convenient, flexible and easy alternative, especially if you’re dead-set on charting a consistent career plan. Many of those who opt for an online graduate business degree are those who intend to remain with their employer, let alone their field, rather than switch career tracks completely.
Indeed, there are many motives attributed to getting an online education college degree instead of the orthodox MBA program. Here are three of the biggest reasons why:
Why Students Prefer Online Business Degree – Reason #1
To begin with, online MBA programs or any degree online college for that matter, do not require your physical presence; that much is obvious. Relocation is unnecessary for a web-based M.B.A. degree, which is essentially a kind of distance education degree. You can easily view course materials wherever you are in the world. You can be in Texas one minute, Tanzania the next, and never lag in the course. Likewise, you can switch jobs without falling behind.
Best of all, you can enroll in a top university or school, whether or not you live close by. An online program is the rule rather than the exception nowadays for schools the world over.
Why Students Prefer Online Business Degree – Reason #2
In an online MBA program, you simply can continue working. Conventional schooling is distracting, in comparison.
Since you get to stay on the job, and study on the side, your experience curve only shoots up, propping you up for better career opportunities after graduation. It’s like you are getting an education and, concurrently, an on-the-job training – except that you are salaried. You get to immediately apply what you learned on the nearest working day.
Why Students Prefer Online Business Degree – Reason #3
Granted, you can still continue working if you enroll in a traditional MBA school, but online business degrees still have the trump card. There’s nothing like the work-education balance provided by online MBA schools.
As a form of degrees distance learning, an online MBA program lets you stay on a company’s full-time payroll and still get good marks. One advantage of a web degree is not having the opportunity cost of compromising your pay for two years.
Contrast this with a traditional setting, in which students find themselves pressed for time. Contrary to what you imagine, it is very difficult to work and attend classes thereafter, as entire hours are at stake. So unless you are insomniac, the old way of gaining an MBA degree concurrently with being employed is just not doable.
