Kim Kardashian And Other Beautiful Celebrities With Psoriasis

Kim Kardashian
You would think Kim Kardashian has it all, at least in the looks department. She’d be the last person you’d suspect of having bad skin. But she has.

Once again a famous celebrity demonstrates the elusiveness of perfection. Reality TV superstar Kim Kardashian is just the last in a long line of celebrities with psoriasis, a condition characterized by ruddy scales, plaques and blotches on the skin.

In the July 24, 2011 episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, a dermatologist hands her this devastating diagnosis. Kim Kardashian had shown the symptoms days earlier to paparazzi, which had a field day photographing the “body of evidence.”

Kris JennerPsoriasis runs in the genes; Kim’s mum Kris Jenner is also a sufferer. But Kim said Kris never had to contend with “flaky dots” throughout her body.

No stranger to dermatological intervention in the name of beauty – she famously underwent an exhaustive hair removal session – the celebutante is deeply worried about her condition.

“People don’t understand the pressure on me to look perfect. When I gain a pound, it’s in the headlines, so imagine what the tabloids will do to me when they see all these spots,” she lamented in the episode.

A psoriasis carrier may not show symptoms until something triggers it, like stress. Kim could be stressed nowadays that she’s betrothed to NBA star Kris Humphries; a wedding is in the offing.

LeAnn RimesCountry singer LeAnn Rimes, yet another psoriasis sufferer, recognizes the key to managing psoriasis is stress reduction. A psoriasis sufferer since she was 2, LeAnn took years to discover the perfect dermatologist and the best psoriasis treatment.

She has parlayed her lifelong experience into a stint as a spokesperson for the National Psoriasis Foundation. With them, she has exhorted thousands like herself to “Stop Hiding and Start Living.” She has also urged non-sufferers to be vigilant of skin issues resembling psoriasis symptoms.

Stacy LondonPsoriasis is more difficult to bear for celebrities, who bank so much on appearance, than less important people. No one understands this better than Stacy London, celebrity stylist and host of What Not to Wear.

Stacy has suffered from psoriasis pretty much all her life. She has learned to temper her condition with a healthy sense of humor and proclivity for constructive criticism – the same traits endearing her to What Not to Wear viewers. She said she could tell apart the loving people who make light of her situation and those who are simply cruel.

Like LeAnn, Stacy is using her sufferings to help others. She spends time with the National Psoriasis Foundation’s Psoriatic Arthritis Total Approach to Health (PATH) program.

CariDee EnglishRounding out this list of beautiful women with psoriasis is America’s Next Top Model winner CariDee English. She inherited the disease from her mother.

Modeling and psoriasis do not mix but CariDee was still able to land juicy contracts. She was even paid to pose, ugly skin and all, for a psoriasis medicine campaign. She is now a National Psoriasis Foundation spokeswoman.

Psoriasis is more than a cosmetic bane to these celebrities though. It is well known to shoot off to more life-threatening conditions such as cardiovascular disease, depression and diabetes. For this reason, keeping tabs on psoriasis is part and parcel of a healthy lifestyle.

There may be no cure in store yet for psoriasis but there is a wide range of treatments available. If you suspect you have psoriasis, you should really look into it immediately. One of the best option you have is to treat it with Skin Dr, a FDA registered natural remedy containing 100% homeopathic ingredients formulated to relieve acute skin problems such as psoriasis, as well as cleanse and purify the entire system.

Aloe can offer relief for psoriasis symptoms and treat skin irritations and illnesses which can trigger an attack. Aloe is gentle and contains a concentrated mix of anti-inflammatory fatty acids and compounds that boost the immune system. The gel forms a protective layer on broken skin, soothing inflammation and speeding the healing process. The purest and most effective source is the gel in the leaf of the plant. Hope it helps!

Wow, I was totally unaware that Kim Kardashian suffered with this problem. Truth be told this post has really opened up my eyes to how potentially serious Psoriasis is (diabetes and cvd). That’s always going to be a problem with constantly being in the public eye, your body and image are essentially your brand

There is no other good things than having a clear glowing skin. Having a nice skin is a pride, it makes women even more beautiful, more attractive, and being attractive could boost confidence.
