Diet Pills War – Proactol vs Xenical

Weight loss is good for the body when it is done to achieve ideal weight.  There are many supplements in the market that claim to induce weight loss and be good for your body at the same time.  It is quite confusing when confronted with claims by these products and telling which ones are genuine can be an ordeal.

To ensure that consumers get only the best quality of supplements and enjoy the benefits of these products, a market comparison was conducted involving leading brands.  From this comparison, two viable names surfaced, Proactol and Xenical.

What can Proactol do?

Proactol is backed by Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC, and it is an organically grown herbal supplement that can:

  • Keep 28% of your daily fat intake from being absorbed by your body.
  • Keep blood sugar and cholesterol levels to the minimum.
  • Prevent you from craving food and suppresses your appetite.
  • Trim down your calories by a 150 calorie consumption per meal per day.
  • Keep your joints flexible.

Proactol is pure and unadulterated.  It has absolutely no side effects and it does not contain any allergens, fillers, and preservatives, giving consumers the weight loss they want and keeping the lost weight off for as long as desired.

What can Xenical do?

Xenical can only be obtained by prescription in the UK, France, and Canada.  It has an active ingredient known as Orlistat that works as:

  • A natural lipase inhibitor in the body, causing 30% of daily fat intake to become indigestible.
  • A cholesterol reducer.
  • A blood pressure reducer.

After studies and a battery of extensive medical trials, a study like XENDOS revealed that users lost 10% of their total body weight while using the product for a year.

Proactol and Xenical seem to offer the same benefits at fist glance, considering that they are recognized the world over to be effective natural fat binders.  These two supplements produce a consistent weight loss of 1-2 lbs per week and at the same time offer other health benefits.  The two supplements apparently look exactly the same.

There is one difference however, Xenical has many negative side effects.  If we consider the success stories of this supplement, are they enough to par with the side effects?

The 2% increment in Xenical’s ability to bind with fat would look like this supplement is the better choice, but this meager increment is not worth the side-effects.

These side effects are oily spotting, decreased calcium in the body or hypocalcemia, chest infections, and uncontrolled passing of gas or flatulence.  Since there is no telling when these symptoms will vanish, they can be very uncomfortable, life restricting, and painful at times.

In the XENDOS study, many of the Xenical users, 91% to be exact, experienced at least one of the mentioned side effects.  This is a startling statistic if we consider the gravity of the side effects.

Guidelines for Xenical users dictate that they maintain a diet containing only 15g of fat per meal to avoid these side effects – this guideline can cause a lot of stress and a lot of hard work goes into minding every gram of food that you consume.  Xenical must be used with much caution.

Which leads for consumers, Proactol or Xenical?

Since Proactol is absolutely free of side effects, delivers what it claims it can deliver, and can be used for long periods of time; Xenical falls short in this comparison.

Consumers can use Proactol for as long as they like without having to concern themselves with adverse effects.  They can use the supplement to lose a few initial pounds, keep these pounds away, or continue losing pounds until they reach their ideal weight.

Xenical is also beneficial in some aspects.  Studies have shown that 35.5% to 54.8% of Xenical users lost up to 5% of their total body weight, and 16.4% to 24.8% lost over ten percent of their total body mass in the span of a year, but this supplement comes with many guidelines and usage restrictions.

Xenical can only be purchased with a prescription and it may only be used by users with a BMI of 30 or up.  If users do not lose 5% of their body weight in the 12-week trial period, the treatment is discontinued.  Xenical users should also mind their diets and make sure that they have a daily fat intake of less than 30%.  The side effects are also very uncomfortable and messy.

  1. I’m not sure how save diet pills really are. Either way they generally don’t treat the problems: over eating and lack of exercise.
