Great addition Alina! Hydration is key and caffeine works against you in this department, whilst helping to bring about "adrenal burnout" and create a very acidic environment in the body. And of course, sleep, particularily the quality of your sleep, is perhaps one of the most crucial elements. I learnt a lot of these gems of knowledge simply by surfing the internet, but I found a lot of them confirmed through a book called "The Raw Secrets" by Frederic Patenaude. He also talks about Cocoa, which many people get addicted to, not unlike coffee, for its stimulant effect.

Frances, you say 'Eat food with volume of not larger than your fist size at one go and drink plenty of water! You will see the difference'. Are you serious? That is the equivalent of one small mango, no two, if you exclude the kernels, how could one possibly live on that ;)

Great tips! Apart from diet, eating less and keeping hydrated are very important to maintain high energy levels. Eat food with volume of not larger than your fist size at one go and drink plenty of water! You will see the difference.

Fruits are good for breakfast. Like I said in the article, even if you do not feel hungry you want to eat something for breakfast, even if that just means an egg or a piece of fruit. I personally have fruits for breakfast all the time. A cup of strawberries, a banana, a scoop of protein powder and crushed ice, walla!

What about a fruit breakfast? That will help the body to continue its cleansing action, will totally energize one and will prevent the sluggishness which normally follows a hearty concentrated meal. I can't take anything but fruits in the morning, anything else will make me feel tired and sluggish. Personally I do a lot of green smoothies, ever heard of that? They provide a lot of fiber and help to balance the blood glucose levels and keep me going for the rest of the morning.

I enjoyed this article - lots of good tips! Particularly the reminder that we are all responsible to make our own happiness. Too often people neglect the emotional aspects of seeking more energy.

I was also concerned, though, about your mention of coffee. Maybe this works for some people, but certainly not for me. When I've tried to "just have 1 coffee to get me going" it's quickly cycled into craving "just 1 more" and then another and another until I've completely forgotten about limiting myself to just 1. When I decided to give it up completely, I allowed myself a tea in the morning, but soon didn't feel the need for even that. The lift I got from the coffee I now get from a large glass of water. Much healthier and just as energizing.

This is a nice article but it overlooks a very important piece of the puzzle - hydration. Coffee is an energy drainer and contributes to dehydration of the body - I wouldn't recommend it. To learn the signs of dehydration, here's an excellent article for you to read http://www.fredericpatenaude.com/blog/?p=121.
I would also add "getting enough sleep" to this.

Enjoyed your tips boost energy and stop feeling tired. As a retreat facilitator one of the biggest complaints I get is fatique and feeling tired. As you shared I agree and recommend the small meals throughout the day to maintain blood sugar levels. Thanks for spreading good information.
