"For a child with one allergic parent the risk goes up to 25%..." derived from Auckland Allergy Clinic

"...if one parent has an allergic tendency, then there is about a 40% chance that their child will inherit the allergic tendency." derived from Dr Paul - Children's Health & Wellness

1 in 4 CHANCES, NOT necessarily 1 in 4 :)

do anybody know any study on this?

Your blog is excellent, and the information is always well presented, however I am not totally agreeable with your comments on childhood allergies.
Research shows that any child may become allergic to food, pollens, etc, but children with a family history of an allergy are more likely to be allergic to some substance. Children MAY inherit the tendancy to become allergic, not necessarily at a 1 in 4 ratio.
